Do you use a sulfate free shampoo?

What are sulfates?

I am sure you must have heard about “sulfate free shampoo” If you haven’t…listen up!
SLES is an inexpensive and very effective foaming agent.. Better known as Sodium dodecyl sulfate, sodium laurilsulfate or sodium lauryl sulfate is an organic compound that are used in many cosmetic products for their cleansing and emulsifying properties. They behave similarly to soap.

Basically without the scientific jargon, its really bad! all it does is masquerade as a soap so that you think the shampoo or cleanser works ‘better’ by the amount of foam to see (even toothpaste). How ever this SLES is an irritant says Wikipedia like many other detergents, and with the irritation increasing in concentration. It has also been shown that SLES causes eye or skin irritation in experiments done on animals and humans.

There are even links between Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and CANCER!

Next time you are in the shower, read your list of ingredients, we need to educate ourselves with this information, because a lot of brands are adding these synthetic detergents when over time its completely bad for you and your children.
